English Premier League results

Birmingham 1 vs 1 Wolves

Wolves missed the opportunity to climb out of the bottom three after they were held to a draw by 10-man Birmingham. Steven Fletcher put Wolves ahead with a penalty after Ben Foster fouled Stephen Ward early in the contest. Sebastian Larsson hit the crossbar and later struck the equaliser after a poor header from Michael Mancienne.

Liverpool 3 vs 0 Newcastle United
Liverpool are up to fifth in the Premier League table after recording a comfortable victory over Newcastle. The Reds dominated the early exchanges and took a 10th-minute lead through Maxi Rodriguez's deflected volley. United competed until the 59th minute when Mike Williamson fouled Luis Suarez for a penalty that Dirk Kuyt converted. Suarez's neat close-range finish sealed the win for the hosts, for whom former Newcastle striker Andy Carroll came off the bench for the final 20 minutes.

Arsenal 1 vs 0 Manchester United
Arsenal blew the Premier League title race wide open as leaders Manchester United were deservedly beaten at the Emirates Stadium. Aaron Ramsey's winner early in the second half condemned United to defeat and leaves them only three points ahead of Chelsea with identical goal difference - and a meeting between the two to come at Old Trafford next Sunday.

Manchester City 2 vs 1 West Ham
Netherlands midfielder De Jong opened the scoring early on and Pablo Zabaleta struck soon after to give City a commanding lead after just 15 minutes. Demba Ba pulled one back for West Ham to set up a tense final hour, but fourth-placed City held on for a victory that moves them seven points clear of Liverpool with three matches remaining.
