Despite pledging his loyalty to Manchester United and signing a lucrative new deal less than three months ago, rumours are rife that Wayne Rooney is set to leave the Red Devils for Spanish giants Real Madrid in the summer.
Less than three months after he threatened to quit the club but later made a dramatic U-turn to sign a new lucrative deal, rumours are rife that Manchester United hero Wayne Rooney is planning to walk out on the Red Devils again in the summer: this time to Spanish giants Real Madrid.
According to British tabloid News of the World, Roo's relationship with United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has deteriorated to the point that Fergie is ready to offload the 25-year-old striker. Sources are saying that Fergie and Roo are unable to see eye to eye anymore after a series of run-ins, and the boss wants to rid the dressing room of Rooney's disruptive influence.
After the latest bust up, the Red Devils could now be willing to sell their talismanic striker, alerting some of Europe's biggest clubs such as Chelsea and cross city rivals Manchester City. Bidding will most likely start at £60 million, and the favourites to capture Roo's signature is, who else, Real Madrid.
According to sources in Spain, Real Madrid's free-spending president Florentino Perez is reportedly seriously considering a mega money move for Roo if he doesn't get his top target, Athletico Madrid's Sergio Aguero. The Spanish club is reportedly willing to pay United as much as they paid for their former player Cristiano Ronaldo, which will be in the region of £80 million, for Rooney's services.
